Had a lot of fun but his parents are definitely not used to having little ones around and so I think it was a bit much having us all there... Which was somewhat stressful to me. I spent so much of it concerned that the girls were going to bother them (which was pretty unfounded), that it was hard to relax completely, but I had a great time nonetheless.
Mitch is definitely trying to help me co-parent but he still has a lot to learn... And the girls are getting used to having him around. I would be kidding myself if I thought that transition would come quickly or easily. (Though to be completely honest, things are going far better than I anticipated!) The girls truly do love him (and vice versa) but we have to start moving from him being Ellie's climbing toy and Zoe's buddy, to being an authority figure.
As for the girls, they have been doing wonderfully. Zoe, who was attached to her phone 24/3 for the first few days has hardly been on it... And Ellie is just happy with whomever is going to pay attention to her. Both are, however, anxious to get to Maryland. Zoe really wants to see the new house (then again, so do I!). Our plan is to get to Maryland and see the house first thing.
Anyway - back to our Texas visit...on Thursday, we went to the Ross Perot Nature and Science Museum. I walked around with Zoe and Mitch took Ellie. We had a great time and Zoe really got excited about the space exhibit. She has decided that she wants to have a space themed accent wall in her new room. Mitch and I told her that we will figure out a way to make this happen.
Anyway... Some photos:
